Again... for the second time around... I just picked up a beat-up Catalina 30 from a guy who started fixing it but gave up halfway. It has a half-gutted cabin and an engine that's halfway out. I've got more time than money lately, so I figured why not.

I'm planning a slow rebuild, bit by bit. If anyone's got a lead on a good deal for a replacement diesel, let me know.

If I fix this, I might sell it too like the last one. I'd rather it be well-loved than it stay unused under my care. I just want to take care of it.

oh, you're a boat resquer! lol. A Catalina 30 project is a wild ride. For that diesel, hit up Facebook Marketplace marine groups or local salvage yards

If you want to sell it focus on making the systems solid, paying the most attention to electrical and rigging.

Haha, I totally get it! I took on an old Albin 25 not too long ago that was in pretty rough shape too. The wiring was a mess, and the motor? It looked more like an anchor than anything else! But you know, there's something about projects like that, they really draw you in, don't they? Wishing you all the best with the Catalina, my friend. You've got this

Haha, I hear you! There's just something so satisfying about bringing those old boats back to life, right? Wishing you all the best with the Albin, hope the journey is smooth sailing
