Catalina 25 mainsheet setup modified

Can i modify the main sheet setup on my Catalina 25 to move it off the center of the cockpit? It kind of seems like it gets in the way and i don't know why but i don't like it.

Yes, you can move it near a traveler on the transom, but don't forget to double or triple check if the boom and rigging can handle the new load angles. Good luck.

I've seen a few owners who relocated theirs to the traveler track on the stern, or even to a boom vang system that controls sheet tension.
They generally found it freed up a lot of cockpit space, though some mentioned a slight learning curve for trimming upwind.

Some purists will argue you're ruining the boat's balance or performance, but honestly, comfort matters. If it's in the way, rerouting the mainsheet aft can make sailing way more enjoyable
